When they say no one can do any more to you than you allow them to, I believe it...to a degree. Obviously if someone is being held captive, they cannot just walk away. But, sometimes we can be holding ourselves captive mentally because we have allowed this muddled way of thinking of the other person to find its way into our worlds, our minds, our hearts. And, essentially those same perspectives and thoughts of the other party began to become the norm.
There are a lot of things or people that could be an influence on your situation. Please don't allow any of this to infiltrate on your peace and life itself.
When you walk away from this situation or person, you will notice a change in your life. Sometimes it even happens very suddenly in order to show you immediately (instant gratification). I've seen people get multiple jobs all of a sudden when they have rid themselves of these toxins. There are toxic situations, people and places.
When you cannot walk away, it is bc you have allowed it/him/her to infiltrate in on your peace. You have begun to believe all they say or exhibit when it pertains to you. I was always told believe none of what I hear and only half of what I see. To piggyback off that, I must admit I am a watcher of body language. The words don't really matter to me considering so many are used so loosely these days.
You see the world is all based on perception. It is whatever you perceive it to be. There would not be innocent people incarcerated was it based on truth. A jury is made up of 12 people that decide one's fate based on how they perceive the evidence and the person's image oftentimes. People sure do have a way with words and every picture is not worth 1,000.
The toxins can hold you back from so many things. Forgive before you walk away or it will forever haunt you. You give it to God all while understanding the forgiveness is for you;not them. The first step is to accept it/him/her for exactly what/who they are. Once they show you their true colors; believe them. Their season or reason may just be up in your life. Believe it or not, there are some dead beat dads/moms that were just put into one's life to give them children;not to stick around and take care of them. Once you have accepted it for what/who it is, your eyes will begin to open up to things you never imagined. Your focus comes back and you finally realize it was for your own good. It may even be that you have to see this situation going downhill for yourself before you completely let go. Then come the blessings in abundance as long as you really forgave. No one said you have to forget. But, at some point it becomes a distant memory and one you can laugh at because now that your mind is clear, you cannot imagine what you were even thinking about getting into it in the first place. Now, you can blossom and be the person that situation wouldn't allow you to be. Life is too short!

What's All The Buzz About Dove?
According to reports from CNN:
Dove apologized this weekend for a social media post that the company says "missed the mark" representing black women.
So, everyone is up in the air about this alleged innocent Dove commercial, huh? The commercial simply demonstrates how Dove is known to care for the skin for all women of all complexions...but in a different way. Earlier today on The Talk, it was said that the company definitely missed their mark with this one.
Now, had the shoe been on the other foot, would there have also been an outpouring of criticism because the white woman was turning black during this commercial? I think not. I mean that would be equivalent to a Caucasian being turned down for a job because of their color, or would it?
I think if anything it may have been very bad timing, considering all the blatant racism going on now. I'm not only talking about all the controversy in the presidency; but going all the way back to the killing of Trayvon Martin. Not to mention the senseless killings of what we as a race see as innocent victims being shot down or murdered in cold blood by the police.
According to www.theguardian.com, as far back as December 31,2015 there had already been over
1,000 people killed by policemen. That is a high number if you ask me. One is a high number when it comes to
fatalities. The reason I mention the Travon Martin case, is because that man was a mere citizen stereotyping a
teenage kid simply because of his attire and was acquitted. It seems since then that more and more policemen
have taken that case and applied it to their own lives. Since Mr. Zimmerman was felt he was held above the law;
so now does the police.
So, if the Dove commercial gets to you like that;what about the innocent lives wasted and taken due to racial
prejudices? If this gets a rise out of you, then surely the police killing over 258 black men in 2016...over 39 of them
being unarmed, must also be a thorn in your side.
All I am saying is if we are going to talk about racism, this Dove commercial should be an afterthought. No one lost
their lives during that commercial. However there have been hundreds of lives lost behind what a vast majority deem as
senseless killings. What about their lives;their loved ones; their parents?
If this Dove commercial causes you this much distress, honey just stop using it. Let's regain our focus on the real
racial issues at hand. If we continue to stand for nothing;we will fall for anything my friends. Stop the cherry picking, pls.
